Role Overview

You will support our AI Automation Lead and Full Stack Developer on active client builds and live AI deployments. This is hands-on engineering where you will write code that ships directly to production for paying clients, rather than working in isolated sandbox environments. This internship serves as a direct pathway to a full-time Software Engineer role based on demonstrated performance and technical delivery over 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of AI automations, workflows, and multi-system integrations
• Contribute clean, maintainable code to our core platform (Node.js) and automation layer (Python)
• Collaborate directly with engineers to understand business use cases and technical requirements before building
• Participate actively in sprint planning, task estimation, and peer code reviews
• Help troubleshoot, debug, and optimize systems and workflows already running live with clients
• Use modern AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) effectively as part of your daily development workflow

Requirements & Skills

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent self-taught experience with demonstrated work)
• Proficient in Python and/or JavaScript (Node.js) with a strong grasp of core programming concepts
• Practical experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, with familiarity in modern web application frameworks
• Strong analytical and debugging skills—able to work through complex technical issues methodically
• Comfortable integrating AI coding assistants into an active software development lifecycle
• Self-driven with the ability to take a scoped technical task and execute independently with minimal oversight
• Strong written English communication skills and comfort working asynchronously in a distributed team
• Required: A GitHub profile, live project URL, or portfolio demonstrating real, functional code

Work Details & Compliance

• Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (work on your own laptop/computer)
• Time Commitment: 40 hours per week, full-time commitment required
• Engagement: Independent Contractor (Full-time commitment)
• Path to Full-Time: Successful interns who complete 90 days with demonstrated code quality, reliable sprint delivery, and proactive problem-solving will be offered a conversion to full-time Software Engineer
• Payment: Monthly payment in USD via direct bank transfer
• Taxes: As an independent contractor, you are responsible for reporting your income and paying applicable personal income taxes in Pakistan (FBR)
• Intellectual Property: All code, repositories, technical architectures, automations, and documentation created during the internship remain the exclusive property of Genifem
• Confidentiality: Client codebases, proprietary agent workflows, and internal architectures are confidential and subject to non-disclosure
• Work Eligibility: Candidates must have legal authorization to work and receive bank transfers in Pakistan
